John 16:33
"...In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world."
Romans 5:3:
Romans 5:3:
"And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience..."
Romans 8:35, 37:
Romans 8:35, 37:
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."
Word in Action:
First, I want to apologize. The last nine months have been a bit of a whirlwind for me. In being caught up in the whirlwind, I neglected my commitment to "Do The Word Today." Not just in blog, but in some cases in practice. Life throws you "curve balls." And if it doesn't, people will. Sometimes you'll even throw a few at yourself.

Things will not always be what you want them to be. People will not always live up to your expectations. You may not live up to them either. But, through it all, God loves you.
I've always believed that God loves me. My problem was that I often thought that His love was supposed to make the people whom He loved exempt from suffering. I got confused when I saw Christians who were unable to pay their bills or innocent children falling victim to senseless acts of violence. What about the love of God? Wasn't it supposed to protect and provide for them? Wasn't HE supposed to protect and provide for them? The answer was and will always be a resounding, "YES!" Not only is He supposed to protect and provide, He ALWAYS fulfills the obligation. Remember the scripture that reminds us that His ways and thoughts are MUCH HIGHER than ours.
We can't get discouraged or confused about the events or issues that surround us. There are some things that we will continue to have trouble understanding and there will be some things that we will never be able to personally change. However, even when those events or issues arise, we have the ability to conquer them through the power of God's love. To realize this potential, we simply have to trust God's word, which tells us that all things work together for the good of them who love Him and are called to do His will. It's a submission process that can only be achieved through faith.
God knows exactly what each of His children need. Though good intentions may inspire us to try to intervene in other people's lives (and of course, our own), we must remember that Father knows best. Pray that His will be done. Have an ear and a heart open to doing what He asks you to do. But, remember that sometimes He may just tell you to do nothing! He is very skilled at meeting people where they need to be met...right where they are!
Declaration of Faith:
Today, I will remember that Father knows best, not just for me but for all of His children.
Song of Praise:
